One of the best 110 film format cameras I used in the 90s, this Agfamatic 4000. Built like a tank, from an almost immortal plastic (see the bumps it took). It is also the only 110 camera with push-pull action that I own, very much resembling the Minox 8×11 cameras style. I got this unused from a charity shop in Watford High St, in 2000.
It opens up by pushing a release on the bottom plate. It is rather simple to use, just drop the 110 cartridge in, and start snapping away. It took really good photographs, if you consider the 13×17 format. The flash is really great in operation, as it covers quite a long distance. Being away from the lens, it also protects the lens from red eyes.
Rugged and very reliable. Lens is a 26mm Agfa Apotar Color, with automatic exposure control, upon selecting one of the three symbols: close, normal and landscape/infinity. A top plate switch is changing the distance, and it also starts the flash when bar is moved to the left (see picture).
The flash test lamp is situated on the top plate. The camera tales 2 x AA batteries, in order to function (also for the flash). Viewfinder is bright, with parallax lines clear and very indicative of framing the shot.
