This is my #3 Minox thermometer. Of course there is no such a thing as numbering the models, but it is easier for me to remember and differentiate various types. When I say types, I mean different presentation tubes; the thermometer itself is the same in all variants, albeit with different writing on the back. This here is of the later model, it lacks the Minox logo and and only MINOX and “Made in Germany” shows. The wording is not in italics, like the #1 model here.
The characteristics of this thermometer are the same for all models, as far as I know. The shape and size of the two segments are matching those of the internal design of the Minox tank. Pumping the thermometer up and down in the tank funnel creates a sort of suction, which helps agitating the liquid inside the tank.
Temperature scale is dual, in both C (1-30*) and F (1 – 85*). Critical temp for bw processing is set at 20*C, and marked by a red band, crossing over on both scales.
Different plastic tube, but I guess these were changed more often than the thermometers themselves 🙂 .
