I was always an admirer of the ingenious solutions developed by Minox for their cameras and accessories. To be honest, what surprises me is the skill and mechanical solutions researched and put into practice. The speed with which Minox identified new ways of using their cameras and developed the solutions is to be appreciated.
The long distance or telephoto lenses were of course present at the time of Minox apparition on the market. Minox and Zapp noticed the need and the benefits of developing a way of doing telephotography with a Minox camera and they got to work. And not long after war, (cca. 1952), the Minox binocular attachment was released.
What appears to be a difficult to comprehend and use accessory is actually very easy to put into operation. To explain how, the Minox Binocular Attachment manual explains it here:
