My Minox journey continues…

Steaming for the ride

Steaming for the ride

I took these photographs with a Minox 8×11 camera (IIIs), loaded with Agfa APX 400. Made a stupid mistake and this is what came out. Initially these pics were to be scrapped, but after a while, I came to like them; they render something of a strange emotion, if you get over the overexposure.

Cannot really put my finger on it, but as I have grown up with the steam engines (plenty of these in my childhood), the old engine steaming stirs memories. I hope they tell you something as well.

This old style railroad carriage was still in use in the mid 70’s, and I remember these circulating to and from the town railroad station. I even took a ride in one, when I was like 6 or 7 yrs old. There were 2 or 3 models, most with wooden benches, some of them with the access doors going straight from the carriage to the platform (no hallway inside, along the carriage). I also remember the brakes, at the end of the carriage on the outside, with a small roof above, looking like a small porch. Yes, revisiting memories is always good for your soul.
