My Minox journey continues…

Voigtländer Vito CLR

Voigtländer Vito CLR

Have had this camera since the very early 2000’s. To my shame, never run a single film through it, no idea why. The mechanics of the camera are beyond reproach, as is the meter, extremely accurate as far as I can tell. No fungus on lens, no dings or any other damage to any of the parts. A very beautiful rangefinder from Voigtländer.

Voigtländer Vito CLR is a 35mm film rangefinder camera, from the mid-60’s. Basically, it is an upgrade of the Vito C series, with coupled light meter and a rangefinder. The film winder is of the large stroke type, because one has to turn the lever all the way to the front of the camera. Featuring a Voigtländer Color Skopar, 50/2.8 coated lens, it has a Pronto_LK shutter – the speeds are in the range of 1/15 to 1/500, with apertures from 2.8 to 22.

There is a cold shoe, and also a flash sync socket right under the release button, which is a bit awkward situated, on the front plate. Nothing wrong with this, one just have to get used to it. The viewfinder is a brilliant one, large and with parallax lines which are very readable. As I have said, the meter is in excellent condition. You compose the picture, and decide on what type of exposure you want, by aperture or shutter speed. Choose one and the other is set by matching the needle of the meter. Simple.
