Two things about this piece if Nikon kit: it takes beautiful images, and it’s a heavy lens. Bought it when I purchased the Nikon F4, and it was part of the original kit of this camera. I am using it mainly when visiting large spaces, or have opportunities to photograph architecture from a distance. As I am not into wild life photography, I would not know how it performs in such conditions, but I am certain it would not let you down. As said, it is heavy, so a tripod is in most situations a must, especially if you shoot at max focal.
