One of the best lenses build by Nikon, this 55mm/2.8. Not only for the great quality, but also for its beautiful rendition of macro focus images. It micro-focuses at a mere 0.25m, and its regular focus is wonderful too. What amazes me is that even at 2.8 it provides very sharp images, and starting at 4, the lens really exceeds one’s expectations.
A very good piece of kit for my MF Nikon cameras. Works flawlessly with both film and digital bodies; however, the digital settings need to be altered for manual focus, of course. Brilliant lens if you want to scan your films with this lens.
